I used a predefined projection which is the North Pole Stereographic for the reason that it has minimal distortion when used in polar and it preserves direction and shape. We need to preserve direction to see the movement of the glacier and to see how it affects the sea level rise through land mass shape changes.
I used a predefined Projection Asia South Conformal Conic , this type of projection is recommended for middle latitudes for it has minimal distortion. I chose to use a conformal projection because it preserves shapes and angles, it is a great base map after the cyclone. It will help them see the changes in topography and conformal maps are commonly use for navigation and weather maps.
I have used a predefine projection the World Mercator Projection. I change the Central Meridian where the Pacific Ocean is for the reason that El Nino is a disruption of the ocean-atmosphere system in the Tropical Pacific having important consequences for weather and climate around the globe. Mercator is a conformal map which used for weather maps.
I used Predefined projection which is the North America Lambert Conformal. Conformal Maps are known to be use for plotting Navigational charts. All the local angles from a point and all local shapes are true which is valuable to the given scenario.
The Winkle triple projection is a compromise projection which is very ideal to use for general information maps. This map is also the current world atlas map that is being use by the National Geographic Society. So I would definitely create this type of map for elementary schools.
